The Melton Brothers, and how a homestead becomes a standard.

This company started on 14 acres. Pierre Melton grew up working his family's land: mowing as soon as his feet could reach the pedals, cutting trees, trimming hedges, building sheds and chicken coops, running wire fence, and operating tractors. Not as chores to escape, but as work worth doing well.

In 2010 that upbringing became MB Homestead Services. The idea was simple. Treat every customer's property the way we treat our own land, and do every kind of work the land needs, so our customers never have to juggle three companies for one yard.

Why the certification matters

Pierre is an ISA Certified Arborist (MA-5911A). That is not a sticker. It means the person deciding how your oak gets pruned has studied how trees compartmentalize wounds, how much live crown can safely come off, and when a tree can be saved with cabling instead of being cut down. It also means pruning is done to ANSI A300 standards, the industry specification, not whatever the saw feels like doing that day.

On the lawn side, we hold a Virginia certified commercial pesticide applicator license. Applications are timed and labeled correctly, which protects your kids, your pets, your pond, and your turf.

• Precisely manicured mowing, every visit, not just the first one.
• Pruning done properly to current industry standards.
• Clean sites. On a large removal, the property is left clean and as undisturbed as possible. Your home or business should look better than when we arrived.
• Estimates in person, needs fully understood before a number is quoted.
