How often should a field be bush hogged?

One to two times a year keeps most fields in grass and out of brush. Annual mowing in late summer or fall stops woody seedlings before they establish, which is the whole battle.

Can you clear a lot that has gone to heavy brush and small trees?

Yes. Brush and saplings are tractor work. Once stems get beyond sapling size it becomes tree work, and having both capabilities in one company means you get one plan and one price for the whole mess.

Do you plow residential driveways or just commercial lots?

Both. Long rural and estate driveways around Gainesville, Haymarket, and Nokesville are a big part of our snow route, along with commercial lots and walks.

Fields, pastures, and back acreage do not stay open on their own. A season or two unmowed and you have waist-high brush, cedar and locust seedlings, and a tick farm. We grew up running tractors, and we bush hog:

Trails, fence lines, and pond banks you can actually walk.
Pre-sale and pre-construction clearing of brushy ground.

Once brush becomes trees you are into removal money. Regular hogging is the cheap way to keep land land.
