Why lawns here are hard, and why timing wins

Northern Virginia sits in the turf transition zone: too hot for northern grasses to coast, too cold for southern ones. The lawns that look good in August are the ones that were fed, protected, and thickened on the right schedule all year. That is the whole idea of the program.

The seven applications

• Early spring. Premium fertilizer plus crabgrass pre-emergent, down before soil temperatures let crabgrass germinate.
• Spring. Feed and broadleaf weed control as dandelions and clover wake up.
• Early summer. Slow release fertilizer that carries turf into the heat without pushing weak growth.
• Late summer. Grub and insect control, timed to when grubs hatch and do root damage.
• Fall. The recovery window. Pairs perfectly with aeration and overseeding.
• Late fall. An organic application that builds the soil itself.
• Winterizer. Root-stored energy for an early, even green-up next spring.

You get a notification before each visit, a note about what went down, and lawn advice matched to the season, like mowing height in July heat or watering after seeding.

Licensed applications

Applications are made under a Virginia certified commercial pesticide applicator license. Products are chosen and labeled for residential turf, applied at correct rates, timed for effectiveness, and handled with kids, pets, and ponds in mind.
